Body-Centered Psychotherapy
Body-centered psychotherapy is a trauma-informed approach that recognizes the body as central to healing emotional and psychological wounds. Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)
Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is an evidence-based, brief therapy designed to reduce the emotional impact of traumatic and distressing experiences. I often use ART to help clients process medical trauma — including surgeries, cancer treatment, hospitalizations, and other overwhelming healthcare experiences — so the memories no longer carry the same emotional intensity. While ART is effective for medical trauma, it can also be used to address a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, phobias, grief, relationship distress, and other traumatic or intrusive memories.
What to Expect:
ART uses guided imagery and eye movements to help the brain reprocess distressing memories. This process allows you to retain the facts of what happened while reducing the emotional and physiological distress associated with the experience. Many clients experience meaningful relief in a short period of time, making ART a powerful option when you feel stuck or overwhelmed by a specific memory or event.
